letterpress artist book

carry it on your back

Trauma is something that many people have a hard time talking about. It impacts nearly everyone at some point in their lives, whether it’s in a big way or a very small way. The idea of trauma being something tangible that can travel through the body and can impact everything organ that it touches was something that intrigued me. I wanted to create an artist book that highlights the fact that trauma can be both physical and emotional and that they are equally as devastating to the body.

The pain travels. It has a route. It leaves a trail of memory.

Eventually reaching the vital organs, the pain is now in its final location. The seeds embed deeper, now living in the body.
